Reservations

Reservation System
Our core facility’s scheduling is managed through an iLab web calendar. If you have not done so already, you will need to register with a valid Columbia UNI and password. Once signed up, you can use the web calendar to determine availability and schedule time.

Once you have signed up for the calendar and received basic operator training, you will be provided ID card access to the facility with a valid CUMC ID. The Zeiss LSM 710 confocal and Zeiss AxioVert upright conventional microscopes are available available 24 hours a day/7 days a week (24/7) in HHSC 1201. The Typhoon Trio (gel, blot and microarray imager) is available 24/7 in HHSC 1205. The LSR II and LSR Fortessa are available 24/7 in HHSC 1211-A. The FACS Aria II Cell Sorter is operated by a dedicated operator. It is available Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM with the possibility of late afternoon/early evening sorts Tuesday to Thursday upon request and time availability.

The LSR II and LSR Fortessa are multi-user systems and each person is asked to book only the time needed to perform data acquisition. Please be considerate of users who may need to use the UV-laser option, which is only on the LSR II. If you do not require the UV-laser option, please use the LSR Fortessa, if possible. Billing is based on the amount of time used or booked, whichever is greater. You may view availability and directly reserve the time you need on the LSR II or LSR Fortessa by logging into the iLab web calendar with your Columbia UNI and password.

The schedule for the FACS Aria II Cell Sorter can be viewed by logging-in to the iLab web calendar with your Columbia UNI and password. Cancellations and No-Shows
A minimum of one hour prior to the scheduled time is required for cancellations on the LSR II or LSR Fortessa. You will not be billed if the cancellation is made with one hour or greater notification. Less than one hour notice or failure to cancel will result in a minimum charge of the hourly rate unless there is someone available to take your scheduled slot.

All scheduled sorts on the FACS Aria II Cell Sorter require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation. If the cancellation is made with less than 24 hours from the scheduled start, you will be billed a minimum of an hour, unless there is someone available to take your scheduled reservation. No-shows will be charged the entire allotted time that was scheduled.
